Kinda Hard Golf appears as a test of patience, rendered in minimalist 2D. Instead of a sprawling fairway, the playing field is built vertically like a precarious floating tower.

Each swing brings the ball closer to the top, where a small flag gently sways. A few millimeters of misalignment in hand force is enough to send the ball to a lower level. Kinda Hard Golf operates more like a hill-climbing puzzle than traditional mini-golf. Players click and hold the mouse, drag in the opposite direction of the shot, and release to hit the ball. The further the drag, the stronger the trajectory. Floating platforms are arranged vertically with narrow gaps between them. The slope and sharp edges cause the ball to roll backward upon landing at the wrong angle. The game uses checkpoints in the form of intermediate flags. When the ball hits a flag, progress is temporarily saved. Falling into the abyss will return you to the nearest flag instead of the starting point. The advanced mode eliminates checkpoints, forcing players to complete the entire journey in one continuous loop.
The challenge uses a light color palette and clear outlines to fully focus on the ball's trajectory. Short impact sounds provide instant feedback after each shot. Each day, the system updates with a new hole with a different structure. According to the publisher, all data is refreshed periodically to maintain variety. The game records the number of completed shots and allows sharing results via social media. Players can compare their individual performance based on the total number of shots.
