Bad Parenting explores the dark side of family and the emotional wounds that young children suffer when neglected. Instead of relying on jump scares, the horror game leads the player into a heavy narrative.

Ron, an innocent youngster with naiveté, sees his loved ones—not the dark—as the source of his terror. The game begins with a seemingly ordinary moment: the boy eagerly awaits his mother's return on his birthday. He rapidly loses excitement when he finds his mother neglected the gift and the day's significance. This indifference is the first spark, creating a tense atmosphere in the small apartment. Isolated from the outside world, Ron watches as his family split widens as he is confined to his room. The apartment's design is gloomy, giving the feeling of living in a distorted dollhouse. Everything is familiar yet cold, each room filled with signs of unease.
The mother tries to alleviate her son's fears by telling him the tale of the enigmatic Mr. Red Face. Who pays a visit to excellent youngsters at night and gives them presents. Initially, it seems like a clumsy fairy tale, but the picture becomes frightful and ominous. Strange noises in Ron's room awaken him that night. A shadowy figure appears, and the next morning, a new doll is beside his bed. The doll claims to be the design of Mr. Red Face, triggering a series of surreal and horrifying events.
