Dismount Ragdoll

At its core, Dismount Ragdoll is an action game that turns conventional wisdom on its head. In this case, a higher score is indicative of more serious damage.

Scores Rise With Every Shattering Impact

You want to crash hard, remain airborne, and remove as many body parts as possible. The ragdoll character is launched from a vehicle, hurtling into staircases, slopes, saw blades, pistons, and barriers. Every impact, tumble, moment of hangtime, broken bone, and severed limb contributes to the total score. Interactive ragdoll physics ensure that no two falls are alike, even if you launch from the exact same angle. Levels featuring sharp saw blades suspended in midair or lines of bright lights poised for shattering differ significantly. Every launch becomes a hilarious experiment on the dummy's limitations.

Scoring Based On The Extent Of Destruction

The scoring system is built around the level of chaos the ragdoll body endures. Every violent collision, mid-air flip, second spent airborne, broken bone, and detached body part adds to the score. Simply completing a level is less rewarding than orchestrating the most spectacular—and painful—crash possible. Players learn that a moderate launch force may cause a longer chain of hits and score higher than maximal power. Ragdoll physics allows the identical launch angle to have quite diverse results depending on the starting point of contact. Since scoring is tied to destruction, what might conventionally be considered a failure can actually result in an impressive score.

Launch Mechanics And Pre-Launch Customization

Before each launch, players select their character, starting pose, and vehicle. A power meter is held to build up force and then released to launch with the corresponding intensity. Directional arrows, impediments, and explosives and rockets may be used to change the attitude or trigger mid-flight. An "Eject" button allows the character to bail out of the moving vehicle, creating unexpected scenarios. On PC, the mouse is used to hold and release for power control, while mobile devices utilize a touch-and-hold gesture. The mouse wheel or pinch gestures are used to zoom in and out within the level editor. Ragdoll physics determines the result while airborne, although players have extensive influence before launch.
